What is BICAF?

BICAF (Bolgatanga International Craft and Arts Fair) is a trade fair showcasing the talented

crafts and crafts people of the Bolgatanga area. The event – organised TradeAid Integrated, members of the local community and International Service volunteers – is held every December at Jubilee Park, Bolgatanga. Originally opening under the bracket of the Rural Enterprise Program (REP) in 2014, BICAF has since stood alone for three successful years, growing in size and reputation year on year.

BICAF promotes fair trade, celebrating Bolgatanga's fair trade town status - one of only two towns in the whole of Africa to achieve this status. It gives craft makers an international stage to showcase their beautiful craft works, including Bolga baskets, smocks, leather goods, jewellery and much more. As well as craft stalls, BICAF features numerous local food stalls, music and performances from artists.

The road to BICAF 2017 has already begun and in order to make BICAF 2017 the best yet, we're crowdfunding for the fair. To give your support to this exciting local festival, click here.
