Trade in focus looks at advocacy; it seeks to bring issues relating to policy and practice that work against the development of businesses and the poor in general. There is also a URA Radio session which is a local radio station dubbed “Trade In Focus”. This radio station helps to empower our constituents to effectively advocate for themselves. Training programs were organized for some of our women’s groups in the area of gender mainstreaming, gender budgeting and land rights.

We used our weekly radio session “Trade in focus” to discuss a number of topics such as:

• Raising Awareness on Fair Trade .

• Raising awareness of BICAF.

• Discussing chid labour laws.

• Womens rights

• Illicit Trafficking and drug abuse. Its effects on Economic Activities in our societies

• The Rebranded SADA and what it means for the development of Savannah Ecological Zone

As a result, listeners know relevant information and understand areas such as fair trade, agriculture, climate change, nutrition, entrepreneurship and gender.
