TradeAid has worked for many years in northern Ghana where accessing financial support for agricultural work has been a nightmare for many farmers and small-scale producers. The mission is to provide specialized and personalized business, financial services, products to farmers and other informal sector operators so as to maintain their livelihoods and living standards with the ultimate goal of contributing to access to financing by farmers and other operators of the informal sector in the Upper East Region and Ghana at large.
182 people have been approved and have benefited from loans under the Farmers Credit Fund. Out of the total number 62 males representing 33.69% and 120 females representing 66.30% respectively benefited from various loan facilities under the Farmers Credit Fund.

My name is Ayishatu Salifu. I am a petty trader and a farmer. I have been in this petty trading business for more than ten years now. Before then I was self financing my petty trading business and it was not easy. It was very difficult because my capital base was small but I when started taking loans from TradeAID, I have seen a significant increse in my capital and this has enhanced my work. I now have an improved income and I’m able to take care of my family. Compared to other institutions, TradeAID’s interest rates are very favourable. I am very grateful for this opportunity.
